KFokam Telco Academy
Have you ever wondered what really happens when you make a call or connect to the Internet? The telecommunications program of the KFokam School of Arts and Trades answers that, hands on.

About the academy
The KFokam Telco Academy is a one-year, on-campus program that trains technicians for the networks that connect Africa. Learners study how communication networks are built and operated, how wired and wireless systems carry information, and how data travels reliably across the world. It is open to everyone, whatever their academic level.
What you will learn
Four core areas, from telecom principles to modern networks.
Telecommunications fundamentals
How signals carry and encode information.
Data communications & protocols
The protocols that make reliable communication between systems possible.
Wireless communication systems
The technologies behind mobile and wireless networks.
Networks: access, backbone & security
Designing, managing and securing access and backbone networks.
Hands-on from day one
Alongside the principles of network architecture, data communications and signal transmission, learners gain hands-on skills: configuring networks, diagnosing faults, and analysing the performance and security of communication systems. By the end of the year they know how to install, maintain and troubleshoot the systems that keep people and businesses connected.

Careers in telecoms
Mobile operators, Internet providers and the companies that build and maintain their infrastructure all need skilled technicians. The academy prepares learners for roles such as network technician, field installer or support technician, trades that are in high demand as Africa keeps connecting more people every year.
