Mechanical Engineering Technology
Applies the principles of mechanics and materials to design machines and devices, from design to manufacturing, for careers in energy, manufacturing, automotive and robotics.
Overview

What you'll learn in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program
Students in MET learn practical skills to design, build, test, and maintain mechanical systems. They study mechanical design with CAD tools, materials and manufacturing processes such as machining and CNC, and applied mechanics including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. The program also covers automation with sensors, PLCs, and basic robotics, as well as machine systems like engines, pumps, and HVAC. Students gain experience in prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and using modern engineering tools to solve real-world problems.
- Metrology and Quality Control
- Principles of Physics II (with Laboratory)
- CNC Programming and Machining I
- Applied Engineering Mathematics
- Statics with Applications (with Laboratory)
Admission requirements
The institute admits 30 students into each of its programs every year. The standard entry requirements for its engineering degree programs are:
- A Baccalauréat (series C, D, E or F) with an overall average of at least 12/20, for applicants from French-speaking education systems; or
- A GCE A Level with at least 12 points, including a B grade or better in Physics and in Mathematics, for applicants from English-speaking education systems, or another internationally recognized equivalent qualification; or
- One successfully completed year in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science at a recognized university.
- Applicants still awaiting their Baccalauréat or GCE A Level results may also apply.
- Applicants must not have repeated a class in their last three years of high school.
- Proof of sufficient command of English (TOEFL or IELTS). Applicants for whom English is a second language may be admitted on condition that they reach the required TOEFL or IELTS score before the end of the first semester.
- Official transcripts of the last three years of high school.
- A completed application form provided by the institute.

Flexibility
Specialized Curriculum
Students gain practical experience through internships, and capstone projects, preparing them for roles in manufacturing, automation, and product design
Adaptability to Career Goals
These programs typically feature modular course structures, allowing students to specialize in areas like thermodynamics or materials science.
Tech-Enhanced Teaching
Faculty in MET programs often blend traditional instruction with digital tools, including simulation software and virtual labs.
